Basketball off to a Fast Start!
Senior Spotlight-Girls Basketball
Amanda English & Jennifer Yohman
The GCA girls' basketball program has been blessed to have these two young ladies over the past four years. They came to the program as freshman do, apprehensive and unknowing of the next level but with an eagerness to learn and develop their basketball skill sets. Their contributions over the past 4 years have improved the team's statistics, attitude and spiritual awareness. They quickly contritubed as young players and their roles increased over time to where they are today.
Today, their roles are as senior leaders serving their teammates as team captains. Now they are the players pushing and encouraging their teammates to work hard, work on proper techniques and leading devotions and prayers. They promote a strong work ethic both on the court and in the classroom. They continually set good examples for teammates to follow. When asked, Coaches Hoffman and Rose said: "These two seniors are awesome! They bring a real love for the game of basketball and it is evident in their play in practice and games. These two work hard and are a big reason for last year's improvement and this year's high expectations."
When Amanda and Jennifer were asked, "What has been the best part of basketball at GCA?", they stated the following.
"Learning and growing together as a team to be successful." - Amanda English
"Watching our team work hard and mature into a competitive team." - Jennifer Yohman
